How to convert a multi-song Apple Music playlist into a single mp3 file?
Join Together which I suggested is an application not a script. If you search for Doug's Scripts Join Together you will find it. It cost $5 and I think you can add an entire playlist all at once. I've used the software before and liked it but I don't currently have a copy so I can't give you particulars. He also offers a number of free scripts (which are entirely different from applications) which I find incredibly useful for dealing with other aspects Mac Music. There are full directions on his site for how to setup and use these scripts. As others have mentioned, you can also use Audacity or Garage Band to do this. The process is quite cumbersome but it's free. Basically you drag each music file from the finder one after another into the app. You then export this as a single file. If you have never dealt with music editing software this can be confusing at first. There are numerous video tutorials that can help.

Bittersweet,
It can't be done with iTunes or Music. If all the files are non-protected, you can do it with an audio editor such as Audacity.
You can do it with GarageBand, it's a free and powerful Apple product. Just drag songs from music to GarageBand. You will have to arrange the songs so when one ends, the next one will start. It also lets you export it as a MP3.
There is a program from Doug's AppleScripts called Join Together that cost $5 that will do this quite easily. There are a lot of free scripts on his site that are incredibly useful so it's worth a search to find the site.
Thank you for the suggestion. I downloaded Audacity, and even though I've used only Macintosh computers since 1984, I couldn't figure out how to take the songs in an Apple Music playlist and convert all of them into one mp3 file. Do you know how to do this?
If these are songs that you have downloaded through your Apple Music subscription, you can't do it at all.
Thank you for the suggestion. Since I know *nothing* about scripts, how much would I have to educate myself to use such a script? Might you tell me the step-by-step process when using this script?
Thank you for your detail-rich answer.
Thank you very much. I bought Join Together and it worked with ease.
