Loss of pressure sensitivity in Apple Pencil (Gen 2) after updating to iPadOS 16.3.1

I’ve noticed that my Apple Pencil is no longer able to detect pressure, preventing me from properly shading my artwork across all of my drawing apps. I have tried restarting my iPad, force restarting my iPad, and disconnecting and reconnecting my pencil, to no avail. My Apple Pencil is always on charge and never left to drain when unused, so I’m pretty sure it’s not a battery issue with the Apple Pencil itself.

Is there anything else I should try, or will I need to wait for a new iPad update that fixes the issue?

You’ve clearly tried the obvious troubleshooting steps. Your Pencil is communicating with your iPad via Bluetooth.

One other check is to ensure that the Pencil tip. Ensure that the tip is snugly screwed into position; when fitted correctly you should see a tiny gap, of about the thickness of a sheet of paper, between the tip and pencil body. If slightly loosened, or overtightened, the Pencil may not work properly, if at all.
