Erasing iPhone that's cellular and WiFi beacons are broken on

Hi,

I want to erase a badly damaged phone to recycle. However, the phone's antenna are broken so it's not possible to disengage Find My iPhone to restore it or wipe from my Mac. Likewise, it can't connect to iCloud to verify the request.

What do I do to get around this besides taking a hammer to it?

You can try going to iCloud.com on another device and set the phone to lost mode and erase it from there. See section 5 here:
