delete a calendar event from an account i no longer have access to
A recurring event on my calendar comes from an email account I no longer have access. I want to delete it permanently from my calendar.

Remove the account. System settings > internet accounts and delete the recurring event from your calendar. You can also deselect the recurring event calendar in calendars to no longer display those items.
