Stolen Iphone

What will you happen when your press "Erase Iphone" Will all data will be deleted? even though those data are not uploaded to cloud? and if the stolen phone is turned off

When the stolen iPhone gets connected to the internet the iPhone will be wiped clean. Till that time it will keep showing Erase Pending against the device under your Apple ID
