Lock Screen widgets in iOS 16?

How do I add widgets to my existing Lock Screen wallpaper in iOS 16? Thanks.

You’re right.


i deleted my current Lock Screen wallpaper (with a photo) and started over (with the same photo). This time the Customize process proceeded according to the instructions, and I was able to add widgets.

I have not seen the photo wallpaper limitations discussed in the literature. And I have not personally tried a photo wallpaper. Here's another writeup.
