Hi EssentialParadox,

Thanks for the info. Let's isolate the issue further to get it resolved by testing when the keyboard is not connected and you are using the onscreen keyboard. You can do that by completing the steps below that are also listed here: Use predictive text on iPad - Apple Support.

  • "With an onscreen keyboard: Touch and hold the Next Keyboard, Emoji key or the Switch Keyboard key, tap Keyboard Settings, then turn off Predictive."

If the issue still exists, then let's connect the keyboard back to the iPad and turn the feature off and back on by completing the steps from the same article that are below.

  • "With an external keyboard: Go to Settings  > General > Keyboard, then turn off Predictive."

Lastly, if the issue continues, let's restart the iPad using the steps here: Restart your iPad - Apple Support that are also below.

" How to restart an iPad without a Home button

  1. Press and hold either volume button and the top button until the power off slider appears.
  2. Drag the slider, then wait 30 seconds for your device to turn off. If your device is frozen or unresponsive, force restart your device.
  3. To turn your device back on, press and hold the top button until you see the Apple logo."

Best regards.

Thanks for reaching out EssentialParadox,

It sounds like you're having trouble with Predictive Text while using a physical keyboard with your iPad Pro. we can help.

Go ahead and try these steps to Use shortcuts on an Apple external keyboard with iPad:

Use the Shortcuts bar to accept suggested words and spellings

While typing, you can do the following:
- Accept a suggested word by tapping it in the Shortcuts bar.
- Accept a suggestion highlighted in the Shortcuts bar by entering a space or punctuation. (If you enter a comma, period, or other punctuation after entering a space to accept a suggestion, the space is deleted.)
- Reject the suggestions by tapping your original word (shown with quotation marks in the Shortcuts bar).
To turn off the suggestions, go to Settings  > General > Keyboard, then turn off Predictive Text.

Hope that helps.

Take care.
