how can I normalise a track in garage band in a MacBook - Ventura?

Hi,

How can I normalise a track in garage band in a MacBook - Ventura? I've seen answers from 2018 but surely this basic opposition is possible?

Thanks

Hi Alexja67,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!

The only feature related to normalization in GarageBand would be the option to automatically normalize the audio when the project is exported as described here:

Change Advanced settings in GarageBand on Mac - Apple Support

If you'd like to have further options for normalizing audio tracks in GarageBand, you can leave feedback for Apple here:

Product Feedback - Apple

Cheers!

If you want to raise the volume of silent parts for a single track, you could use the Compressor plugin for an audio track. Select the Audio Track, then open the Smart Controls. Usually the Compressor has already been added as a plug-in.

Be frugal with the amount of compression. Too much much compassion will sound unnatural.
