New device messages

Suddenly getting a cascade of notices that a new device is accessing Message. It is ALL of my current devices. Why is this happening? When I go to Settings, all devices listed are my actual devices. HELP!

NOTE: I had to pick a device to send this message, but it is ALL of them.

iPhone 5s, iOS 12

Thanks for keeping the thread up to speed sangersl,

Based on the information you've provided, and that you're seeing only the devices you expect when you check where you're signed in, it appears the message was related to authentication of a device or devices you already own. In which case, you can continue using your account with the confidence that you're the only one with access.

Cheers!

Hello sangersl,

Thanks for following up with us.

You mentioned that you recognized all of the devices; to help us get a better understanding of the situation, can you confirm if you're using the process outlined in this link to review the device list? Check your Apple ID device list to see where you're signed in

Use your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Apple Watch to see where you're signed in

1. Tap Settings > [your name], then scroll down.
2. Tap any device name to view that device's information, such as the device model, serial number, OS version, and whether the device is trusted and can be used to receive Apple ID verification codes. The information might vary depending on the device type. You might need to answer your security questions to see device details.

Also, since you started receiving those messages, have your devices been restarted? If so, do the messages continue to appear after restarting? That information will help us isolate this more.

Thanks!

this is the message only it will list different devices. One message for just about every device I own. Then I check settings and I see all of them, recognize all, none are new or strange to me. It always refers to iMessage. Every time I opened a different device I’d get the whole message cascade, but nothing unusual ever showed up in Settings. I don’t think I’ve recently signed into messages from a device I don’t use often or changed anything in my account, but I might have done something so minor I have forgotten. I just can’t figure out what triggered this. And I REALLY don’t want to have to change my password.
