Can’t login on my iMac

I have the logon box on my screen but it won’t accept any keystrokes from my keyboard with fresh batteries.

iMac 27″, macOS 10.13

Hello!

Do you have access to a wired keyboard? If so, use it to enter your password, then go to System Preferences > Bluetooth and connect your Apple wireless keyboard.
