Zoom on a Mac Mini without a camera?

Can I use Zoom on a Mac Mini without a camera? I don't need a camera because I don't need to be seen.

This would be for large presentations that are made using Zoom and I just want to watch. If I need to participate I'll pull out my laptop or iPhone. And I think I've read that an iPhone can be used a camera.

TL/DR background: I'm contemplating selling my too slow 2017 iMac and getting a Mac Mini and 27" monitor. I will wait to see if there are any Mini announcements next month. In fact as a trial I'm using my M1 MBA with an LG 27" 4K monitor. It works, but it's only 8 GB and it pushes the limits and I need more ports. Right now, one for power and the other for the monitor. A dock would solve that but may need one anyway.

Someone asked a year ago and didn't get. a response.

Hey there SoCalMtnBiker,

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities. According to the following Zoom support resource, it doesn't appear that a webcam would be needed to join a Zoom Meeting or Webinar: Frequently asked questions - Zoom Support

Do I have to have a webcam to join on Zoom?
While you are not required to have a webcam to join a Zoom Meeting or Webinar, you will not be able to transmit video of yourself. You will continue to be able to listen and speak during the meeting, share your screen, and view the webcam video of other participants.

If you have any other questions about using Zoom without a webcam, we would recommend reaching out to Zoom's support directly here: Contact Zoom Support

We hope that's able to help.

Take care!
