How to restore text messages from a number

You can try to retrieve lost or deleted messages from an iCloud backup or Finder (or iTunes) backup. You’ll have to factory reset your iPhone, then restore all of the data from the last backup before the messages were deleted. Unfortunately, this means any changes since then won’t be saved and this process can take a while. Alternatively, you can try to contact your carrier to check if they have your messages (if they were text messages in green bubbles). Other than this, there does not seem to be other ways to recover messages.
