How to allow the menu when searching in itunes?

when first doing a search in itunes, I'm given a menu which allows me to choose my library, Apple music or Itunes store. Once I pick apple music or the store, the menu never comes back up and I'm trapped in the source e.g. itunes store. the only way I can get the menu is to shut down and restart itunes. i saw on another thread that someone claimed a double hit of "cmd T" would reset but it doesnt work for me.

Use Feedback - macOS - Apple to let Apple know you'd like the filter field to stick around once you've enabled it.
