Other than the beep nothing else happens, no start-up, nothing! Can anyone suggest a fix or tell me what I need to do? Any ideas would be very welcome. Thank you.

I can't get it to do anything except beep. It doesn't boot up - the screen remains black and it just keeps beeping. (We have returned from being abroad since Sept 2019 and being stuck because of Covid pandemic. Now it just beeps at me. Do I need to take it to an Apple shop or is there anything I can do in the first instance. It was working when we left and no-one has touched the memory or anything else.

Regarding Make and model, as I can't switch it on, can I find the make and model online using/through any of my other devices - iPhone or Mac Book or iPad - or through my Apple ID? How please?
I older Mac's, that startup fault generally indicates a RAM issue.
Can you estimate the model year it is? If it's anything before 2015 I wouldn't take it in for repair for several reasons:
However if it is a 27" then remove the RAM and re-seat it. By the way, did you upgrade the RAM yourself if so, what brand of RAM is installed?
It is either 2016 or 2017... can't remember exactly when I bought it.

I have not upgraded the RAM since I bought it and would not know how to do it myself. It was purchased directly from Apple brand new.

Then remove the RAM and reseat it. Below is a link that shows a short video to instruct you, removing and installing RAM is VERY simple and takes less than 5 minutes and requires no tools.

It's a Late 2014 27" iMac.
