Airdrop on Finder Freezes - MacBook Pro on BigSurr/Monterey

I've seen this question on other threads without a true fix. I have a 2018 Macbook pro currently on Monterey 12.2.1. When clicking a device to share, airdrop freezes and won't work until the finder force quits and reopens. The pattern seems like I can airdrop 2 separate times and then the freeze happens. Just trying to see if anyone has been able to fix this. Any help would be appreciated, it's getting to the point of a major hinder of workflow.

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 12.2

Thanks I did update and now it seems to work normal until the computer sleeps. Once woken up the freeze happens again and I need to force quit to use.

you can submit your Apple Feedback/file a bug report here: http://www.apple.com/feedback

We can only hope a point update to Monterey would address the issue...

I suffer the same problem and found out some workaround that may help both Apple and others,

I am using MacBook Pro M1 with Monterey, latest version. this problem is not consistent, so most of the times airdrop from my MacBook to my iPhone works just fine, but sometimes what happen is I try to airdrop and finder freezes with the iPhone showing but pressing on it won't respond.

So I do 2 things,

1. command+t will open a new tab in finder and then I can simply close finer altogether, no force quite and no reboot required.

2. I found out that this problem ONLY happens when I'm connected to my external monitor (I use Dell, usb-c), as soon as I disconnect the usb-c cable from the monitor, airdrop is working fine, then connecting back the monitor and everything will be back to normal until next time (which can be only few days later).

Hope that helps.
