Updating this iPad Mini running 12.5 software. If it’s not possible it will go with the long list of Apple products that got trashed! Was using an air 3 but that fell in the sink. Waiting for my new one but I need something else to use till then

The iPad Mini 2 and 3 cannot be updated beyond iOS 12.5.5.

I have an older iPad mini that’s actually brand new. It’s running 12.5 I can’t find the option to update anywhere.
