Scanning from Canon MG4200 to macBook Air

I am getting the message 'You do not have permission to open the application' when using a scanner on Mac. All updates are applied but still cannot scan. I have also applied all updates relating to my Canon MG 4200 Scanner

I have tried Image Capture (as in the past, no problem). So I tried Canon IJ Scan Utility. I downloaded all the current drivers from Canon. But I still get the error message that I don't have Permissions. I tried changing permissions on the Get Info box so it says Read and Write. I deleted and then added the printer in System Preferences. Help, please!

Canon scanner not working after Big Sur 11.5.1 update Hi, I can not use my Canon MG4200 scanner since the apple software update. I get the following pop up. I have done many un-installs etc tried using image capture etc nothing will allow me to open the scanner. I have downloaded extra drivers, I have talked extensively with Canon support. I can use the printer to print just not scan. The scanning function does work and I can get it to scan through the canon app on my iPhone. I was able to scan before this update and then literally overnight was unable to scan with this pop up coming up. I am the only user of this MacBook and am the administrator. It is a home computer so I am also in charge of the network. Any advice?

Big Sur won't allow me to scan on a Canon printer/scanner I have a Macbook Pro running Big Sur 11.5.1. I also have a canon Pixma MG 7500 series printer/scanner. I usually print and scan using AirPrint. I am the owner and the administrator for this laptop. Every time I try to scan something (scanner worked well before updating to Big Sur) I get a Mac message saying, "You do not have permission to open the application "canonIJscanner14F.app"". And then I get a message on the scanner (through the printer) that says " Failed to open a connection to the device (-21345)". Printer function works fine. I have also tried scanning using the Mac Image capture and preview apps and I get the same messages. Any thoughts?

If you updated macOS according to 'You do not have permission to open the application' when using a scanner on Mac - Apple Support, that's all you can do.

I suggest that you contact Apple Support and tell them you are still encountering that problem, despite having updated macOS.
