After my iMac upgrade I can't log in

Restart the iMac in Safe Mode and Log-in, then restart normally and Log-in.

I thoroughly thank you for your response, and though I am pretty ignorant in the ways of computers, I have done the basic web research to preform the simple and basic tasks. Spent this morning w tech and they couldn’t figure it out. Now have to bring the machine in. Not small but a 27” desktop. Not a fun prospect. Was reaching out earlier to see if others had such an issue. Thanks again for your kind response.
