M01, M02, etc. instead of month names

Is it just my iPhone, or has there been a change to the date format, where there is an “M-number” instead of the name of the month displayed??

I have the phone set to U.S. region, English. I can’t seem to find anywhere that I can de-select this format. Can anyone help me?

thanks.

It would be better if you can please re-post with a screenshot, in order to understand the phenomenon better. Images/pictures speak louder than words.

Please understand this is a public forum: While attaching a Screenshot, do not provide any personal credentials, such as Card detail, email id, apple id, IMEI number, Serial Number, Phone number, Order ID, if you are sharing a map ensure your location is not identifiable, etc.

My phone is set to U.S. English, so that’s not it as far as I can tell. I may try flipping it to something else then flipping it back just to see if that resets it correctly. What bothers me a bit is that it then says “this will restart your phone”, which sounds like more than one thing is being reset. Which I don’t like because I don’t know WHICH things are being reset…

Angiepants13, I finally hit upon the solution for me. One thing I did was temporarily turn off “Set Automatically” under the Date and Time setting. (That step may be unnecessary, but I’m telling you everything I did.) While that was off, I looked at the “Language & Region” setting. I definitely had English set, but I also had Japanese katakana set for when we were in Japan. The problem was THE ORDER of the two languages. The Japanese was above English, making it the first-preferred language, in order, for the phone. I scrolled the three horizontal lines up to switch their positions, and — voila! The phone took a few seconds to readjust, but now all is well!!! I put the Time and Date setting back to Automatic, and the problem was fixed, finally!!

I hope this helps you!!

And it makes some sense now, because to a Japanese person the Month Names in the year (January, February…) probably wouldn’t mean anything to them, but “Month 1”, “Month 2”, etc., would makes sense to them.

Please let me know either way if this fixes the issue for you or not.

Thanks so much for this. Not sure how it changed, but it did along with my maps which was showing directions in French. So I did what you said and changed it from English US to English Canada and then switched back. When I switched back, there was an option of English US and Corsu. I deleted the Corsu and now everything is back to English format, both calendar and Maps. Thanks so much for your help.
