What is my physical card security code?

FYI, I’m brand new to this Apple Card/ titanium card thing.

So I was at the apple store today to turn in my MacBook Pro laptop for repairs today. When everything was diagnosed and done, the apple guy asked me for a payment card so I handed him the Apple titanium card. he put it into the chip reader and then asked me for the security code or cvv number. This kinda threw me off so I looked it up in my wallet app and give it to him only to find out it was declined twice. Is the security code on the Apple Card (from the iPhone) the same or different from the physical titanium card?

The way I looked up the info:

I went to the wallet app on my phone

Clicked on the apple master card picture

On the top right, clicked on the card icon (123 on the icon).

I see the Apple Card number, exp date, and security code.

if I look down a little bit I also see the last four of the physical card but no security number.

any help on clarification would be super helpful.

The Titanium Apple Card does not have a CVV and a merchant should never ask for it; they are likely trying to do a "card not present" transaction for some reason. I'd be rather skeptical about giving it to anyone since they then have your card number and CVV...

You'll find a CVV in the wallet, that belongs to the card number that you see in the wallet only, not the physical card. You could use that number online.
