AppleTV app on Amazon Fire stick 4K not remembering where I paused a show

On all 3 of my Amazon Fire stick 4K's whenever I pause a program and exit or if I pause a program and the Firestick's scrrensaver comes on, when I play the program again it always starts from the beginning.

tried removing and reinstalled the app
Happening on all 3 of my Firestick's
Tried on a fresh factory reset of a Firestick too.

Seen other reports of same issue with no solutions.

Latest version 8.1 of the app installed.

Help! Please!

When you are watching something, you should be able to watch again where you left off. You can find more information about this under the 'Continue watching, find movies and TV shows, and add channels in the Watch Now tab' section of Watch movies, TV shows, and live content in the Apple TV app

Do you have this issue if you use the Apple TV app on other devices? If not, take a look at what we found on the Amazon support forum: Apple TV within the fire stick app won't remember where I left off on every show.
