calendar app giving event alerts at wrong time

i have an iphone 13 and a ipad air 3rd gen and for some reason this problem only happens on my iphone. the problem is the alerts for events in my apple calendar app frequently gives the alerts at the wrong time.

for example i will get alerts for events that i have set to alert on the day of the event like a week early or then it will notify again a few days later if i clear it and then not notify at the set alert time which is set to go off at the exact time of the event.

Thanks for coming to Apple Support Communities for help today with your Calendar app. It sounds like you see events and notifications at the wrong times.

Are both devices syncing the Calendars to iCloud in Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud?

If so, check out this article: If your iCloud Contacts, Calendars, or Reminders won’t sync.

If you sync with a third-party, you will see that in Settings > Calendar > Accounts. You can try removing the account and re-adding it.
