error 4000 when I'm updating my iPhone
keeps getting error 4000. my laptop is updated. my Itun is uptoday. the only thing to do is put my phone to recovery but this is not a good idea.

@LD150 I tried this with my old phone 7 but didn't work correctly I'm using the recovery mode as an alternative as if used the updated via wifi, it takes more time and uses extra storage.
any way to update/ fix the issue with Itune
Error 4000 is an ertir in iTunes.
Temporarily disable phone passcode and try again .
Or update using wifi in Settings, General, Software updates.
Like I said, Settings, FaceID & Passcode or TouchID & Passcode and turn off Passcode. Then use iTunes to update ios

Disabling the Pass code and the Auto lock worked for me very well. and make sure to connect your device to the back of your PC (USB on the motherboard)
