my HP printer goes offline frequently. I have latest MAC update. i tried all the troubleshooting exercises.
I even bought new cables. It worked for 5 print jobs - one page each- and suddenly its offline again. I have been at this computer three hours now trying to resolve. Anyone else have this issue?
MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 11.5
HP inkjet all in one 3512 series. I bought a new printer cable and a new USB to C for my Mac and it worked for a half hour maybe. Im using direct USB rather than the wireless feature, though i did try both. My Mac is the Big Sur 11.5 version.
Of note, I am technologically challenged. Hope you can help with any ideas? and thank you

what model printer?
what sort of cabling?
MacOS 11.5?
system preferences > Printers& Scanners > select your printer from the box at left...
press (Open Print Queue) button.
any error message here when it hangs up?
No error message... idle.. last used
if it hangs up again, look in that box for an error message. You can even keep that window open if you like.
