Why when I am doing an indoor walk on my treadmill for 30 mins does it not count the full 30 mins towards my exercise minutes?

See section 2 of this support document, Get the most accurate measurements using your Apple Watch - Apple Support


It needs to be a brisk pace for it to count as exercise. This is generally around 3mph on a treadmill.
