Amazon - M1 CPU speed spec for Mac Mini correct?

I'm interested in buying an M1 Mac mini with 16GB memory in Amazon.

However, CPU speed is listed as "1.00", with no units. I expected a rating in GHz.

Is that a typo? Or a "normalization" to other baseline?

I already asked on Amazon (got no answer) and searched similar 16GB models, but can't find the CPU speed listed in GHz.

Also note that searching for the 8 GB model shows the correct speed rating (3.2GHz). Not so for the 16GB one.

No, but you can try local points of sale https://locate.apple.com/co/es/sales/?pt=all&lat=3.4903454&lon=-74.7100553&address=Colombia. Work the site for your particular location. The points of sale should point out further possibilities, if any, assuming they can’t sell. Good luck.

Amazon specs are always suspect on any product.

Go by what the manufacturer specifies at their website

for a given product.

As for buying from Amazon, at least in the US they are an

authorized Apple dealer since March 2019:

The problem is that local dealers only carry the M1 up to 8GB. Xcode is rather memory intensive, and I need to run VMs.

Do you know if Apple will reject my order if I try to use a freight forwarder? Thanks.

You cannot run any Intel VM on an M1 at this time (if ever).

Parallels released an update that supports M1 now, but only

ARM64 versions of Linux and the ARM64 version of Windows

(need to be enrolled into the Microsoft Insider Program to get it).

Please do not purchase an M1 Mac Mini thru or from Amazon.

Do yourself a big favor and only purchase an M1 directly from Apple.

Never mind Amazon, the seller has only a 91% rating = unreliable and untrustworthy. What country are you in? Returns and refunds will be guaranteed problematic if you buy from this seller. Avoid.

I'm in Colombia.

Come to think of it, I may try shopping directly from Apple and having delivery to a freight forwarding service.

Does anybody know if Apple delivers to freight forwarders?

It won’t be possible, unfortunately. Go with 8 GB would be my recommendation.

Indeed, I want to run Linux ARM64 on the VM for browsing, as a security measure. If Chrome's sandbox is so great, then why are new vulnerabilities coming all the time?
