iMovie not importing still images

Hi there. I've been using iMovie for a long time, issue free. For some reason it doesn't seem to want to import jpgs or images of any sort today.

.mov files are coming in fine, but if I try to drag and drop in or import a still image I get a circle with a line through it.

I already restarted the app, restarted the Mac, and deleted the iMovie prefs.

iMovie quits when importing any media I am running iMovie 10.1.5 on a 2012 mac mini (mojave). When I try to import media (.mov, .mp4) or .jpg iMovie quits (as opposed to crashes). Tried deleting preferences, restarting, new library all to no avail.

imovie 10.1.15 wont import images Hi everyone, Current iMovie 10.1.15 (I think it updated that's why I have an issue). I can import movie format clip however all of a sudden iMovie is not importing .jpeg or .png. Not sure what to do :(

deleted the preferences a second time and that seemed to do it for whatever reason.
