Possible spoof call

Did some service call iPhone/iPad Air 3 users asking them to contact Apple support? The number I received the call from is (866) 358-8717 and the call back number (supposedly toll free) is (315) 232-8257. I did not call them back because I wanted to check to see if it's some kind of phishing scam. Thanks for any insight you might provide.

It is a Phishing Scam. Apple NEVER calls people asking them contact support. NEVER.

In contrast, a spoofed call is a number which appears to be a normal number, often with digits similar to a local number, which is not local and is trying to sell you something.
