Why doesn’t my phone automatically install an iOS update the night it comes out? I have automatic updates turned on as well and my phone is charged and connected to WiFi. Yet, everytime an update comes out I find myself manually having to download and install an update.

Going forward, by chance do you have Low Power Mode enabled in Settings > Battery? Some features, such as automatic downloads, will not complete when Low Power Mode is turned on. From that link you'll want to choose, iPhone > Update, Backup & Restore > Updating iOS. From there you should see a few options to reach out, depending on your location.

Just to confirm, in Settings > General > Software Update > Automatic Updates, is both Download and Install iOS Updates enabled here? If you do, has this issue occurred with all iOS updates, or only certain updates?
We ask as not all updates will be installed automatically. You can find this, and more details in the following link under, "Customize Automatic Updates": Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
If this occurs with all iOS updates, do you receive any error messages when you notice that the update didn't download or install?
