Bought new iPhone 12. I thought my ripped music from old iPhone 6 was backed up to cloud and would come over to new phone. I’m stuck and want all that great music.

Your iPhone should never serve as your primary music repository. Hopefully your music resides somewhere else, like iTunes or a Mac’s Music Library.
