How to control volume on Apple Watch while using air pods? The crown doesn’t seem to be responsive.

I find turning the crown works. It is just slow to respond. Turn the volume up or down and wait 5 seconds... That works for me while listening to music or audiobooks and with regular Airpods or AirpodsPro.
