HomePod and AppleTV - Siri not controlling video on AppleTV

Hello,

I have an AppleTV and HomePod connected in HomeKit. I can start the AppleTV and shut it down with voice command. Sometimes I am also able to pause/restart and forward a video on the AppleTV via Siri.

But as soon as music ist played in this combination It is not possible to address the video on the AppleTV again. Siri only says that there is nothing playing on the AppleTV at the moment even a video is played at that time. This is when telling Siri to stop. When telling her to play she stats Music.

I didn't find an easy way to end the music "connection" and return to a video. The only thing that helps is to restart the AppleTV or/and the HomePod.

Does anyone have an idea if there is a possibility to "connect" Sir to the video playback instead of the music playback?

Maybe there is a simple solution I just can't see.

Thanks in advance!

Thomas

Siri on HomePod isn't able to act an alternative to the Siri button on the Apple TV's remote. There are also some unintuitive interactions once HomePod is connected to the TV where waking the HomePod to play music can wake up the Apple TV.
