Where Is The Battery Indicator For Pencil Found

With regards to checking the battery level on the Pencil - it used to be that if I swiped all the way to the Right, I could, among other things, check the battery level of the Pencil. Somehow the introduction of Widgets, which I have no use for, has made this feature seemingly disappear. I tried getting rid of the widgets but I am now left with this unwanted info in the top Left of the screen and I can't seem to get the battery level indicator back the way it was before this latest upgrade. Any help for this?

If you have paired the Apple Pencil with an iPad running iPadOS14.x, the Battery Level is available in two places whilst the Pencil is in use...

1) The Battery Widget

2) From iPad Settings:

Settings > Apple Pencil

You need to use widgets, now.

There is a battery widget now that has to be added to the Widgets panel.

When you Pencil is connected, its battery level will show up in the Widgets panel.

Why do you not like widgets?

I use various widgets.

The wIdgets panel prominently shows the time and date.

I have the widgets screen on my main Home page.

I have a weather widget

Battery and usage widget and a few others I can view at a glance all in one area.

You can stack widgets one atop another.

Widgets can be a good thing for quick look/access at certain types data/information.

The Pencil, and any other Bluetooth device, will show the battery level/percentage once the initial, wireless Bluetooth connection is made.

It is what is is now.

Call me a Luddite but rather than fiddle with Widgets, I am fine with just using Apps. So what are you telling me? That with or without Widgets, I can only check the battery level on the Pencil by connecting it to the iPad? That's nuts! Before this latest upgrade, you could check the Pencil battery level by just swiping all the way to the Right. The battery check never required a connection to the iPad. Are we going backwards here?

Great! I will be looking at Settings > Apple Pencil as suggested although it's a slight inconvenience. I wish that they had left the Pencil Battery Indicator, with its numerical value, just the way it was before the upgrade. I liked it better than this -
