How can I retrieve messages and photos sent in messages

If you are using iCloud messages, there is no way to retrieve deleted messages. If you are not using iCloud messages, if you have a backup of the device when the messages were on the iPhone, you can restore the iPhone to that backup. Just remember that anything done since that backup will be lost. If you have no backup, there is no restoring.
