How do I buy music on my Mac now?
Hi all. I'm a bit confused...
I used to be able to buy music (the content) on my Mac from the iTunes store and download it into my iTunes library to sync onto my iPod.
When we lost the iTunes Mac app and it was changed to the Music (app) I'm fairly sure I could still do that.
But now I have signed up for the free trial of Apple Music (the subscription service) I do not deem to have the option of buying music (content) and downloading it any more.
I know that I can add music (content) to my Music (app) library for free, but it specifically says on the Apple Support article that any music (content) downloaded from Apple Music (subscription service) will NOT sync to any other devices, which is precisely the reason why I want to buy it. I cannot add any music (content) to my iPod Classic any other way, apart from syncing it to my Mac.
Another Apple Support article tells me that I need to download the iTunes Store app in order to do this, but that app doesn't seem to be available for macOS, and is only available for iOS & iPadOS.
Can anyone assist please?
And incidentally, I wish Apple had a bit more imagination when it comes to naming apps & services. Why does everything have to be called 'Music' now, so that one has to clarify which thing one is talking about? (The same can be said for Photos...)
