Keypad not working during call

I received my new IPhone 12 pro. I am unable to use keypad during a phone call. I had no problem with 8 plus.

iPhone 12 Pro, iOS 14

Does the keypad not appear at all when you tap on it, is it grayed out, or does it appear but keys aren't recognized when you tap on them?
