My iPad shuts down by itself and says it is dead but once I charge it. It shows that the battery was dead or low at all. When I unplug my iPad it does the same thing again and shuts down by itself. What can I do?

Your iPad is exhibiting symptoms of a failed battery - or a battery that has reached the end of its service life - and may require replacement.

This support page will help with troubleshooting charging issues:

If your iPad won't charge – Apple Support

If your iPad remains usable whilst connected to its Power Adapter, the easiest way to establish the health of your iPad battery is to directly contact Apple Support - and request a remote battery diagnostic test.

Apple Support can be contacted using the Contact Support link at top-right of this page. Alternatively, you can use the excellent Apple Support App to initiate a support case:

A further alternative is to take both your iPad and Power Adapter along to your local Apple Store - where the technicians at the Genius Bar can test and assess your devices.
