I want to put a phone number from one apple id to another apple id, how do I do that?

I share an Apple ID with my mom and older sister. I got a Mac for college and I made a totally new Apple ID for the MacBook. How do I transfer my phone number from my old Apple ID to my new one? Will all of my information, contacts, photos be gone?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.15

You would need to sign out of Messages and Facetime on the iPhone that holds the number from the shared Apple ID, and sign in with the new one.

When you do that, the number gets associated with the new Apple ID used to sign in.

If the Photos and contacts are stored in the Apple ID's associated iCloud account, then when you sign out, yes they may be lost. You can choose to keep them on the device ad they should be synced to the new iCloud account for the new Apple ID.

When changing to the new ID, there may be some data loss, but you can minimize it. If syncing photos with iCloud, ensure Optimization is turned off in Settings/Your Name/iCloud/Photos and/or in Photos/Preferences/iCloud. Then make sure full resolution photos are on the device/computer. When signing out of iCloud, if asked whether you want to retain data, choose yes. Messages conversations will be lost if they are addressed to the ID. See the article below for other places that the old ID should be removed. See Winston Churchill's response in the below discussion. If possible, also set up Family Sharing  between the IDs to keep access to your apps/purchases.

If necessary, you need to change the number on your Apple ID. After the change, allow up to 24 hours for the change to sync. Before trying to make the change, sign out of Messages/FaceTime on all devices/computers.
