Forgot passcode

i followed the steps that ive read here on the site.

My iphone says connect to itunes

But when i plug in my iphone to my laptop it does not pick it up so that i can restore my iphone please help

iPhone 11, iOS 13

It’s important to hold the buttons as it describes when you plug it in, and continue holding them until the computer responds. If it doesn’t respond after a minute or two holding see—>If your computer doesn't recognize your iPhone, iPad, or iPod - Apple Support

Hi lawrence i gotten this far now and it said it cannot restore my phone,it was busy updating the firmware

Yes i tried all that steps but the last step is not happening the laptop is not picking up the iphone when i plug it in so that i cant restore the iphone
