Using a Mac Book Pro with a LAN
Can I use a Thunderbolt port to connect to an Ethernet cable via an adaptor on my Mac Book Pro.?
Any suggestions for a suitable adaptor?

If you bought in Jan 2015 you have a mid-2014 MBP (the ‘early 2015’ models came out in March 2015). Your Mac has Thunderbolt 2 ports, the Apple Thunderbolt to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter will work with your Mac (as would the other one Kappy linked, via a USB-A port.).

Apple sells a TB3 to Ethernet adapter: Thunderbolt to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter. They have a USB to Ethernet adapter: Apple USB Ethernet Adapter that can be connected using a TB3 to USB-A adapter (find one at Amazon.)
Many, many thanks for your assistance. Just need to find one! I am in Ecuador so shipping from outside Ecuador is not straight forward! I am hoping when I can travel after covid-19 calms down a bit I can get one in the capital, Quito. Kindest regards
My Mac Book was purchased in January 2015. Not certain it has a Thunderbolt 3 port. Any other suggestions?
@Kappy, the Apple adapter is NOT Thunderbolt 3, it’s TB1/2 and will not connect directly to a newer Mac.
But, it WILL work with the OP’s not-newer 2015 MBP which has TB2.
I am not certain I have a USB-C. On the left side I have a power port, 2 Thunderbolt ports and a USB A or B, definitely not rounded like a C
