Music and AMPLibraryAgent issue

When I open Music, it becomes the #1 CPU process. No 2 process is AMPLibraryAgent. It can stay this way all day, until I close Music. This is hobbling my Mac. I've looked at some remedies posted here and on other websites, but none of them has helped. My other devices are two iPhones and an Apple TV. But syncing (the phones) isn't part of the picture. Unplugging AppleTV doesn't change the CPU utilization either.

Is this a bug in Music? (v10.5.14)

MacOS? (v10.15.5)

Hi tahm77,

It’s great to have you in the Apple Support Communities! We gather that you’re concerned about the performance of the Music app on your Mac. We're happy to suggest some troubleshooting that may resolve this for you.

There are quite a few things you can check. To start, we suggest the troubleshooting steps from these two articles:

If your Mac runs slowly

If graphics tasks slow down your Mac

Cheers.
