Can I add non iPhone user to a group chat on imessage

Is there a way to add non iPhone user to a group chat... currently using iMessage and when we try to add non iPhone user her contact info appears in red and I can’t add her.

In Messages you can have group chats with either other people who are on Messages or with a group of people who are texting normally. You can't mix text group chats with Messages group chats AFAIK.
