iPad Pro Cable to MacBook Pro

I just purchased an iPad Pro 12.9 4th generation and I am not sure what kind of cable I need to connect it to my MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014) which has 2 lightening ports and two USB ports ... no USB-C port on the MacBook.

You an use a USB to USB-C cable: mophie USB-A Cable with USB-C Connector (1 m) - Apple


Or use an adapter, and simply use the inlcuded USB-C that came with your iPad: https://www.amazon.com/Upgraded-Basesailor-Compatible-Chargers-Standard/dp/B079LYHNSR
