I have designated several F-key shortcuts to assign text and paragraph styles. When I press the correct F-key, the computer beeps, but does not apply the style to the paragraph or characters selected. What am I doing wrong?

According to Apple tech support, the F-keys will work on styles of text within a SLIDE. What I needed was style shortcuts for text in the presenter notes, and those don't work. You have to assign any text styles in the presenter notes manually. Grrrrr.

Don't use the F keys as they are dedicated to Apple hardware control, F12 is decrease brightness
