Still can’t block messages even after adding to contact

It’s 2020 and we are still having the same issues. Still receiving unwanted messages from unknown and not able to block them. It seems they are smarter

iPhone 6s Plus, iOS 13

Try Settings>Messages>Filter Unknown Senders, turn that on. Yes, they are getting smarter and are spoofing numbers, or sending from computers. You can report that to your cellular carrier and see what blocking services they have.
