Disabled iPad

I have a family member's iPad that is disabled but it is not backed up to any computer. How do I open it back up?

You can connect it to any Mac, or to a Windows PC if you install iTunes, and erase it. For instructions, please see the Apple support article If you’ve forgotten the passcode for your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, or your device is disabled. Note, however, that if the family member had Find My iPad enabled, it will be protected by Activation Lock and you'll need their Apple ID password before it can be used again.

Although it was not backed up to any computer, it might have been backed up to iCloud, in which case if you set it up with the same family member's Apple ID you'll have the option to recover their information.
