Why did I get a charge for a free trial of apple tv

I got an email that I have 1 year trial for apple tv but they charged me after I started the free trial. Why did I get charged?

Either you didn’t activate the free trial correctly (did the 7 day?) Or you purchased content from iTunes (a movie, tv show?) which isn’t included in the subscription. ** It takes action from you to activate the trial** The email is just informing you of it, not activating it.

check your purchase history to see exactly what you were charged for, then check you subscriptions to see which plan you are on: view, change, or cancel your subscriptions
