How can I update my phone when I don't have a Mac and when it doesn't allow me to update it on my phone?

Visit an Apple Store, or borrow a Mac or Windows system for the upgrade. This if you’re not already running iOS 12.4.4, that is.
The iPhone 6 can not be upgraded beyond iOS 12.4.4.
