Internet Accounts: Facebook: Unable to verify account name or password

Hi, I have a MacBook Pro, OS 10.13.6. I know this situation has occurred in the past, but the old replies/answers have not worked for me. I recently was "asked" by Facebook to change my password, they said mine was too easy. I did so, and now I cannot share pictures from Photos. In Internet Accounts, I tried to update my Facebook password, but immediately got the reply above. Deleted Facebook from Internet Accounts re-added it and still same answer automatically. I can log into Facebook fine from Safari with new password. Can anyone help me? Is there some "plist" thing I need to remove, and where is it, if that is the case? Thanks for any support.

AHA...

Open Keychain Access in Utilities, then either check the Password under that item, change it, or delete it and start over.

Enter the part after the facebook in the search bar.

You may have duplicate or more entries in Keychain Access.

MacOS usually uses the older ones.

Thank, BDAqua. The new, correct password is there in the Keychain. Do you recommend that I just delete the keychain and then when I next log into Facebook, accept the offer to add it to the Keychain? It would still be the same password, and I still can't add my Facebook account to Internet Accounts (I deleted it when it would not let me use the correct password anyway).

I noticed that when I went to the Facebook website in my Safari browser, Safari prompted me to create a stronger password or to use one they can generate. I cannot help but wonder if this is related to my problem.

I will let it sit for a few days, and if I get brave, I will delete the Facebook Keychain. I'm afraid that if I add it back, then Keychain still won't work, or I will screw something else up! As others have said in the past, everything works fine from my iPhone (at least for now). If they would just make it all work together smoothly for the average person (sigh) .......

Perhaps I need to upgrade to a newer OS (Mojave or Catalina), since I'm now 2 behind. Having an older OS usually starts to create problems here and there, which are generally resolved by upgrading, with a few new glitches, of course.
