share icloud storage
I am creating a Family Sharing account. Can I use my iCloud storage (50GB) with this account? I assume I would need to upgrade to 200GB but don't want to lose the 30GB I have in my account now.

You need to upgrade, and doing so won't result in file loss.

Additional related question:
I currently have a 50GB iCloud plan.
I am setting up a new Apple ID for my wife and I to share, which will be the base for Family Sharing. Once I add my personal Apple ID to the Family Sharing, can I then share my personal iCloud plan as the main storage?
I do not think you can have a personal upgrade plan and share on another subscription. If this were possible I think the occasional person posting here about wanting 10TB storage would be able to set up a bunch of shell IDs with extra storage and share 5 of them to get 2 TB x 5 .
Thank you!
